The present work is a proposal for teaching the quadratic function for a 1st year high school class, which aims to provide a differentiated methodology in order to use the GeoGebra software, in order to help both teachers and students in the teaching and learning process. of
Mathematics. Based on the different ways of working a didactic sequence, a set of materials such as theses, articles, books and monographs was chosen to precisely research the study of parables and concepts of the quadratic function. In conjunction with this, tools such as: algebraic, graphic and calculation windows were used, it is possible to visualize the graph and understand some function concepts. The objective of this work is to provide teachers with a proposal for teaching Mathematics aimed at learning the second-degree polynomial function,
presenting the use of Software as a mediation instrument. This methodology will be a strategy for students to learn abstract content in a dynamic way, being able to visualize the functions through the manipulation of commands, thus acquiring a broad development of what is more complex for them. For the theoretical framework, some works with the main authors were used: Almeida, Alves, OSB and Lemos (2014), Gladcheff, Silva and Zuffi (2001) and Fainguelernt (1999). The proposal presents a qualitative methodology, being used in bibliographic research and in the construction and description of the application of the activity that will be worked on in the classroom at a later time. of students during the classes.
