Problemas reacreativos da obra Liber Abaci de Leonardo Fibonacci (1170 – 1250): uma sequêcia didática
Resumo
This work is an investigation within the area of Mathematics Education and aims to investigate
the potential of Recreational Problems from the work Liber Abaci, by Leonardo Fibonacci, for
teaching mathematical content. For this, a qualitative and exploratory approach was chosen.
Thus, a bibliographical survey was carried out involving Brazilian theses and dissertations on
Recreational Mathematics, published between 2019 and 2024. Furthermore, the study presents
a didactic sequence aimed at teachers and future Mathematics teachers, consisting of three tasks
that address the story of Leonardo Fibonacci (1170 – 1250), his work Liber Abaci and Problems
Recreative taken from chapter XII of this work. The results show that Recreational Mathematics
has been a methodological approach recently researched in Brazil. Another result that we
highlight is the importance of using Recreational Problems from historical texts in the training
of Mathematics teachers, allowing them to learn about the potential of this approach and
integrate them into their classes. Recreational Problems have potential for teaching
mathematical content such as: fractions, ratios, proportionality, numerical sequences, recursive
sequence and numerical patterns. Furthermore, it stimulates logical reasoning, creativity,
problem solving and contextualization.
