This study analyzes the impact of formal employment on the academic performance and well-being of Physics undergraduate students at IFRN, Caicó Campus. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research involved 31 students who completed an online questionnaire addressing their socioeconomic profile, work profile, challenges faced, and expectations. The results indicate that the majority of students work, and this dual workload significantly impacts their studies, causing fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and demotivation. This overload contributes to a context conducive to academic burnout, affecting mental health and leading some to consider dropping out. Students highlight the need for greater schedule flexibility, psychological support, financial aid, and understanding from the institution. The research underscores the urgency of policies and pedagogical practices that address the specific needs of working students, promoting their well-being and academic success.
