The education of the field consists in identifying a pedagogical reflection that is born from the numerous educational practices developed by the subjects living in the field. In this perspective, the valorization of the teacher, understood here as initial and continued training of teachers to work in schools in the countryside and conditions worthy of teaching work are foundational categories for the effectiveness of education in the countryside that values peasant identities and favors their emancipation human. The present work has as objective to verify if the body of teachers of the Municipal School of Santa Maria - Afonso Bezerra / RN uses the pedagogical practices related to the education of the field in its activities. For the purpose of this research, "In Loco" questionnaires were applied with the teachers of the school under study, the questions were approached relating mainly the teacher training, the methodologies used in the classroom, knowledge about field education, as well as the insertion of this the school. Thus, observing and analyzing the results from the answers obtained with the questions presented in the interview script, we noticed a lack of understanding of the context of the education of the field by the educators, this is evidenced by the fact that they do not have a training or training aimed at the practices and methodologies that encompasses rural education.
