This is a monograph for the completion of the Licentiate in Mathematics course at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Norte - Campus Santa Cruz. It investigated, through bibliographical research, the relationship between Mathematics and Music with the objective of elaborating a proposal for a didactic sequence approaching the teaching of fractions through musical theory. The proposal is aimed at classes in the 7th year of elementary school, which is part of basic education in Brazil, according to the analysis of normative documents such as the National Curricular Base. Therefore, the research methodology is qualitative, bibliographical and documental, based on eight previous works on the subject available in the Catalog of Theses and Dissertations of Capes, in order to justify the collaborative-action-research presented as a teaching proposal. This monograph concludes with the proposal of a didactic sequence for teaching fractions in the 7th year of elementary school, using Music as a didactic support for the activities to be developed in the teaching of Mathematics.
