Desafios enfrentados por professores da educação do campo : conhecendo a prática dos educadores da Escola Municipal Dr. José Targino/Canguaretama-RN
Resumo
This article addresses the challenges faced by educators at Escola Municipal Dr. José Targino, located in the rural community of Outeiro, in Canguaretama/RN. The objective of the research was to identify and analyze the obstacles that teachers encounter in the context of rural education, as well as the practices they adopt to overcome them and the achievements achieved with their students. The relevance of the study arises from the growing recognition of the need for education that respects and values the cultural and social specificities of rural communities, promoting teaching that not only transfers knowledge, but also empowers students in their realities. The precarious conditions frequently observed in rural areas and in their schools in Brazil highlight the urgency of measures to transform these realities. The theoretical framework of the study is based on the Rural Education axis, with contributions from authors such as Caldart (2009) and Hage (2014). Data were collected through an electronic questionnaire applied to three teachers from Early Childhood Education and the initial years of Elementary School at Escola Municipal Dr. José Targino. The results include a description and reflection on the challenges identified, with emphasis on multiserialization, a topic frequently discussed in the literature in the area. The final considerations recognize the possibilities and potential in teachers' practices, even in the face of the numerous challenges faced.
