This work proposes an approach to teaching hydrostatics, highlighting the integration between science, technology and society. Initially, the basic concepts of hydrostatics are presented and the importance of its teaching for understanding natural and technological phenomena and an approach to the use of cisterns to store water in locations where piped water is not available, as well as the use of mechanical pumps to its elevation. Next, a methodology is detailed that emphasizes the use of teaching resources and pedagogical strategies that promote reflection on social issues related to water and the role of technology in this context. It is intended that the results obtained with the application of the proposal indicate an improvement in students' understanding of hydrostatic principles, in addition to a greater awareness of the importance of water and technological advances for society. It is concluded that the integration between science, technology and society in the teaching of hydrostatics can significantly contribute to a more complete and critical training of students.
