It is common for high school students to have difficulties in Physics due to mathematical rigor and lack of familiarity with their concepts. Despite this, experiences that combine theory and quantitative practice are few in the teaching of Physics. In this work, a platform was developed with gears that allow approaching concepts of circular movement in high school. The elaboration considers accessibility, with a choice of low-cost materials, and didactics, with versatility to be applied in different contexts. The platform is assembled using household tools, such as saws and scissors, and using raw materials that are easily accessible, such as CDs and boards. The result is a teaching tool that allows the student to measure angular displacements and speeds. We believe that the platform will help to close the gap between the calculations of Physics classes and everyday experience.
