High school is the level of education where the student is faced with the discipline of physics in a specific way for the first time. The fact of explaining phenomena and using, many times, only calculations and theories for this, generates a notable discomfort in the students, who treat the discipline as one of the most difficult of this stage. In this work, a competition of pilotable carts was carried out, among students of IFRN Campus Caicó, which allowed to demonstrate how the insertion of events within a discipline can collaborate with the interest and development of the students. With the objective of being an accessible event, for all the tools used in the stages of the competition, materials that can be easily found were used, such as wood and bearings, as they are materials that are widely used and discarded by workshops and carpentry. The assembly of an obstacle course is entirely found at home, as buckets that simulate towers are used. The result is a fun and at the same time didactic competition that allows students to learn Physics, competing and having fun. We believe that holding events of this type can undo the negative concept that students end up having when faced with the discipline and all the calculations and concepts taught only within the classroom.
