And the difficulties faced in the teaching of Physics in the secondary schools scattered throughout the country are well known. This monograph aims to analyze the advantages and the contributions that these didactic instruments can bring to a better understanding on the part of the students with respect to the content of geometric optics, but specifically, the formation of images in flat and spherical mirrors. To do so, we will defend the use of flash simulators as a tool in the teaching and learning process and show how teachers can work with such tools. For this, we developed a didactic unit addressing the content of image formation in flat and spherical mirrors, material that will serve as a base for students and teachers in the basic education network. In addition, we developed lesson plans based on the contents of the didactic unit to guide teachers in the use of flash simulators during the approach of said optical contents. In this way, teachers can have complete support material for content development with students.
