This research deals with a semiotic analysis of the covers of Vogue Brasil magazine, especially the monthly editions launched in the first years of the Covid-19 pandemic. We aim to analyze, in this way, the meanings produced by the covers of the aforementioned fashion magazine between the years 2020 and 2021, a time frame in which the world witnessed the most harmful effects of the pandemic. Methodologically, we carried out an internet search in search of data and information about the covers launched by Vogue Brasil magazine in those years; and, based on the sources found, we proceed with a semiotic analysis of the covers, establishing relationships between the meanings produced by them and their connection with the “spirit of the times”, that is, with the historical context in which they were produced. As a theoretical foundation, we support our analyses, initially, on Lúcia Santaella's studies on Semiotics and Communication; in studies on image and production of meanings, in addition to other research that took magazine covers as objects of analysis. The research results point to a discreet and subtle stance taken by Vogue Brasil when dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic, compared to the approaches of fashion magazines from other countries, which have positioned themselves in a more emphatic and effective way in relation to this global issue. of public health.
