Resumo
The evolution of electronic equipment has brought innovations to various areas of society, but it has also given rise to a significant challenge: the increase in electronic waste, primarily caused by improper disposal of electro-electronic residues. This problem, driven by consumerism and planned obsolescence, has been generating various environmental and human health issues due to the toxic substances found in the internal components of electronic devices. The growing amount of global electronic waste underscores the urgency of raising awareness about this issue. In this sense, this project aims to reduce the socio-environmental impacts of e-waste by conducting an educational workshop at a public school in the southern coast of Rio Grande do Norte, targeting young students aged between 15 and 19. The workshops address the issue of e-waste, providing guidance on disposal, reuse, and recycling, while also training students to handle and classify electronic components, promoting both environmental and technological education. Cataloging and disassembly of equipment were also carried out to capture images, analyze, and identify the components involved in the disassembly process of certain devices. The project was promoted on Instagram with the intention of highlighting key points related to this theme, and various research activities were conducted, primarily on electronic waste, which proved to be highly useful in the preparation and execution of the workshop. Ultimately, the main purpose of this project was to promote environmental and technological education in the proper disposal of electronic waste through an educational workshop focused on raising awareness about socio-environmental impacts and the technical training of participants. The goal is to solve or minimize the problems arising from this issue before reaching a point of irreversible damage.
