In the Seridó Potiguar region, a vocational school stands out for teaching pattern-making and sewing to those who wish to train and enter this job market, due to the potential and current development of this sector in the region. For this reason, the aim of this research was to analyze the perception of students at a vocational school in the area of pattern-making and sewing about the institution's teaching and the possibility of entering the job market. This is a scientific study characterized as descriptive, bibliographical and qualitative. The data was collected using a Google Forms questionnaire, made up of 12 mixed questions, reaching 90 participants, including students and former students of the institution analyzed. The results showed that the school's public is mostly made up of women over the age of 40 who are looking for the course out of personal desire, professional qualification or a moment of therapy. What's more, they consider that they have learned to sew and pattern-make and reveal that they are working in the area, either independently, in their own workshops, or in factories. They also say that the course has contributed to their qualification and entry into the job market, which tends to influence their intention to recommend it to other people.
