The research aimed to analyze the perceptions and support of the local community of Arez,
Baia Formosa, Canguaretama, Goianinha, Pedro Velho, Jundiá, Tibau do Sul and Vila Flor to
the tourist development of the municipalities. The research is characterized as descriptive of a
quantitative nature of the type of cross-sectional Survey. The research sample was carried out
in a non-probabilistic manner, for convenience. Data collection was performed using an online
form, using the Google Forms tool, with questions on a 11-point metric scale. Data were
collected between May and Junel 2020, when a total of 80 forms were applied. The data were
analyzed using excel and the Statistical Package For Social Science software (SPSS 22.0).
According to the analysis carried out, it was observed that the results obtained have high
perceptions about the positive impacts and benefits generated by the tourist activity, as well as
showing interest in supporting the development of tourism in the locality. Regarding attachment
to the community, it was observed that residents do not have a strong attachment to the place.
Finally, it is concluded that the results obtained in the research were achieved by being able to
observe the residents' perception and thus evaluate positively.
