Arquitetura de informação para sites acadêmicos: um estudo de caso para o portal do IFRN

Abstract

One of the biggest problems faced by users using the IFRN portal is based on basic search procedures for certain subjects within the site, but the same users are unable to succeed in the results of most of these searches. The objective, therefore, of this work was the creation of a new structure proposal for the IFRN portal, based on the basic concepts of information architecture. In order to propose an interface redesign in the light of the information obtained by mapping expectations from the point of view of users’ user experience. In order to guide the development of this project, it is necessary the execution planning and methodological processes focused on the user-centered design context. We performed a user survey and search for existing artifacts to assist in creating canvases. Personas techniques, experience mapping, benchmarking, content inventory, metric analysis, heuristic analysis and Wireframes creation were used to expose the props of new screens for the portal. As a result it was possible to observe the large quantity of users who reported their difficulties on certain portal screens, and to solve this problem screens were created as a proposal for a possible change within the portal.
