Educação a Distância e Educação Profissional: um olhar sobre o curso técnico de Segurança do Trabalho

The present study focused on the Professional Education, taking as reference the technical course of work safety in the distance modality.The objective is to analyze the perceptions of the Technicians in Work Safety trained in the distance modality of the campus Distance Education (DE) of Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Norte (IFRN), regarding the educational training received and its reflexes in the professional practice. Methodologically, the study follows the principles of qualitative research and exploratory research. The research sources are bibliographical, documentary and a questionnaire applied to all the final students of the technical course in Occupational Safety (OST) DE of IFRN. The history of DE, its legal foundations in Brazil and the process of pedagogical mediation were discussed; and the organization of professional education in Brazil and its connection with DE. The observed results attest that the educational changes are part of a policy oriented by broad determinations of the world context, deeply marked by the pattern of hegemonic accumulation and within that context are the institutions that execute the policies; that the DE and the OST DE of the IFRN are part of this dialectical process in which Brazil is inserted. In this way, the IFRN OST DE course is feasible for the construction of a professional that is inserted in the world of work and thus it was confirmed in the research that the students recommend the course for anyone who has an interest in qualifying and growing professionally.
