Social media have been used to publicize events, business, scientific papers presented, among others, gaining visibility from the sharing of power on the Internet. In this context, this study aims to analyze how participating researchers in the Seminar of the National Association for Research and Graduate Studies in Tourism (ANPTUR) use social media as a tool for promoting their work. Through a methodology based on an exploratory and descriptive research with qualitative analysis by applying a semi-structured interview guide, it was sought to examine how researchers use social media to publicize their scientific papers. It was observed that during the events held by ANPTUR, participants take advantage of the event to present and disseminate their work in social media, such as Facebook, Academia and ResearchGate so that their studies are known, thus gaining recognition for the achievement. From this research, it can be seen on use of social media to disseminate scientific papers by researchers of the event.
