The present research project proposes an analysis of the applicability of typography, with reference to the emotions, identified in the reading of graphic design pieces. Studies conducted in other cases by the Graphic Designer Erik Spiekermann (2011) and other authors like the Psychologist António Damásio (2012) and Lúcia Santaella (1983) are highlighted here. Thus, we added to the study the dilemma of the disordered use of types that generates a lack of communication between the visual elements in the graphic design pieces. For this, the methodology used will be based not only on bibliographic research in books, articles and other materials, but also on field research, which corresponds to the collection and analysis of data referring to research questionnaires, so that the development is traced in order to meet the objectives. This proposal starts from the concern of the misuse of the typography and the recognition of the domain presented on the emotions. In short, the project aims to collaborate for a greater typographic knowledge, analyzing its application and helping to have a unique look when it comes to types and their representations.
