Efficient management of rainwater in urban environments is essential to prevent flooding, preserve infrastructure and ensure the well-being of the population. At IFRN Campus Natal-Central, the lack of an adequate drainage system has caused recurrent flooding, erosion and damage to buildings. In view of this, this study aimed to develop a rainwater drainage management plan for the campus, through an exploratory, descriptive approach based on qualitative and quantitative analyses. The methodology involved dividing the campus into micro-watersheds, characterizing the existing infrastructure and identifying 12 critical drainage points. For each point, the specific problems were described and mitigation measures proposed, such as the construction of new galleries, replacement of pavements, expansion of existing systems, adaptation of collection boxes and, whenever possible, the adoption of sustainable solutions such as permeable pavements, infiltration ditches and sumps. In addition to the technical solutions, the work emphasizes the importance of sustainable practices, promoting awareness about the responsible use of water resources. The results were consolidated in a technical manual that offers comprehensive guidelines for the management of rainwater on campus, with an environmental, social and economic focus. The implementation of the proposals will contribute to a safer, more resilient and sustainable environment, aligned with the urban and institutional development guidelines of IFRN.
