Normatização e gerenciamento de produtos químicos e resíduos laboratoriais no IFRN

Abstract

This research seeks guidelines for a normative model of chemical waste management at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Norte, expandable to other public teaching-learning spaces. The proposal relates to managerial aspects such as financial expenses, risk control and even environmental impacts. The relevance of this study is associated with the need to control the direct and indirect risks involved in activities that generate laboratory chemical residues. As a methodological element, an evaluative instrument was developed and applied to possible generators, previously selected, distributed on the institution's campuses in order to generate the discussed data. As main results, the profile of the generators, safety conditions in the work environments, volume of waste generated and storage conditions were obtained, allowing the analysis of situations related to risks, as well as the subsequent elaboration of the study product, which is a manual management of chemical residues of the IFRN, directed to the scenario found.
