Resumo
In the midst of intense climate change, mainly due to anthropic actions, the search for means that may represent sustainable alternatives with less environmental impact to the exacerbated use of the biggest polluting source, oil, has become increasingly intensified in recent decades. It is known that the transport sector is responsible for one of the largest emissions of polluting gases and soot in the atmosphere. In order to cause countless damages in the environmental sphere, as a whole, and to all those who depend on a balanced environment. Given this concern with quality and environmental stability, biodiesel presents itself as a cleaner, renewable and biodegradable proposal that can be used with Diesel cycle engines, without requiring changes in the vehicle to receive this type of fuel. And with the aim of offering an alternative for the conscious destination of vegetable oil, which is used daily in homes and businesses, the production of a residual biodiesel appears. In this sense, the work presents a comparative analysis of fundamental characteristics, emission gases and particulate matter using conventional diesel and canola residual biodiesel, whose scientific nomenclature is Brassica napus, in Internal Combustion Engine (ICM) with the purpose of to evaluate the applicability of biodiesel produced as an alternative to be used in diesel cycle motor generators. For this, the fuels were tested in a motogenerator model MDGT-6500CLE, brand Motomil 4T, powered by diesel fuel. The analyzes were carried out based on the results obtained through practical tests. The biodiesel produced and analyzed presented the following mixing ratios: 13% (B13), 20% (B20), 30% (B30), 40% (B40) and 100% (B100). Being the last biodiesel, B100, only for certain observations. It was noted that, in general, biodiesel showed similar behavior to conventional diesel in most of the trials and tests carried out. However, the biofuel stood out in terms of the clear decrease in emission gases as the mixing rate was increased, in addition to also presenting an identical result to conventional Diesel when subjected to the corrosivity test, without showing any sign of attack on the blade. copper. And yet, it was noticed that all samples of residual biodiesel exhibited behavior similar to Diesel S10 with regard to the profile of vibrations caused by ignition.
