The Caatinga Biome is unique and represents one of the richest dry forests in the world in biodiversity. However, the constant anthropic interference over the years has given it fragilities and environmental degradation. In this sense, native Caatinga species, such as Jurema Preta, have been recommended for the recovery of these areas. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of Rhizobium inoculation and the addition of seaweed extract on Jurema Preta development in Caatinga degraded area soil. The experiment was carried out with soil from the Florêncio José Association area, near Queimadas District, João Câmara-RN. To characterize and evaluate the state of degradation of the area, soil samples from the conserved and degraded area were collected and analyzed. The experiment was conducted in a randomized block design with 8 treatments (Nitrogen Witness (TN); Rhizobium (R); Seaweed Extract (EA); Bovine Manure (EB); Absolute Witness (TA); Seaweed Extract + N urea (EA + N urea); Seaweed Extract + Rhizobium (EA + R); Seaweed Extract + Bovine Dung (EA + EB)) and 4 repetitions. To obtain the treatments with the addition of seaweed extract was used 100g / pot of commercial extract, formulated based on Lithothamnium sp. The seeds were placed in hot water to break dormancy and sown in 10 L pots. During the conduction of the experiment all treatments received daily irrigation of the vessels until reaching about 80% of field capacity. The following variables were analyzed: emergence, emergence speed index, plant growth parameters (height, stem diameter, root length, number of leaves), dry matter and number of nodules. The results showed that the addition of algae extract or Rhizobium inoculation did not promote plant development. However, the bovine manure (EB) treatment provided the best development of the Jurema Preta seedlings for all evaluated parameters under the evaluated experimental conditions.
