As dimensões ôntica, epistêmica e documental na representação da informação e do conhecimento

Abstract

Introduces dimensions of organization and knowledge proposed by Gnoli (2012), which are ontic, epistemic and documentary, and highlights that when properly used it is able to cover the entire representative description of the informational material. It aims to analyze the presence of ontic, epistemic and documentary at the Dublin Core pattern and also at the Marc format. It conceptualizes the representation of information as a group of elements that represents an informational material, both physically and thematically. It also speculates that in IR it is possible to verify a greater focus in the documental dimension than in ontic and epistemic ones. It defines metadata and focuses specifically in Dublin Core and MARC format. It used as methodological approach an exploratory and descriptive research. And concludes that the complementarily between dimensions ontic, epistemic and documentary can contribute to a better representation of informational materials and, thereafter, to a more efficient recuperation of information.
