A gestão de repositórios institucionais: uma análise a partir das políticas institucionais de informação dos institutos federais brasileiros

Abstract

: Institutional policies are guiding instruments for managing repositories. This study analyses the guidelines for managing Institutional Repositories at Federal Institutes based on institutional information policies. It maps the institutes with repositories in operation and searches for institutional documents. It is classified as exploratory and descriptive in nature, with a qualitative approach using document analysis procedures. It points out that the Institutes' institutional IR information policies have more general guidelines aimed at management, such as the formation of management committees. There is a link with the libraries to carry out IR support and management activities. It is recommended that future research be carried out to ascertain the effectiveness of IR management practices at the institutes.
