The present research evaluated the professional profile and attributions of the Technician in Animal
Science in front of the Technician in Agriculture and the professional degree in higher education in
the course of Animal Science. To develop it, the relevant legislations and pedagogical bibliographies of the courses were consulted. The results show that the Technician in Animal Science and Technician in Agriculture activity are correlated, the Technician in Animal Science action occurs for the animal production and the Technician in Agriculture activity for the animal and vegetable production. Between the courses of Technician in Animal Science and the Bachelor in Animal Science, the undergraduate course has a long duration and in-depth content, while the technician has less durability and more superficial content. It is concluded that the legislation that deals these professions in Brazil causes concomitance of attributions among the professionals, in this way, the job market itself will select the professional based on the quality of the service.
