Intercâmbios e sua importância para a formação profissional : o olhar dos alunos do curso de Gestão de Turismo do IFRN

The theme of the work is exchanges, this is something that allows different
opportunities, provides benefits. Participate in experiences that the exchange can
provide, contribute in aspects to personal and professional life. The present study is
the result of research that aimed to identify whether the Tourism Management student
at the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Norte (Campus Canguaretama) has
knowledge about exchanges and the importance of this for professional training. In
order to obtain the necessary theoretical basis, the study first sought information
related to teaching in tourism, professional experience and about exchanges. Then as
methodological procedures, it is a descriptive-exploratory study, of a quali-quantitative
nature. Being developed by means of a data collection instrument, the questionnaire,
applied to 45 respondents, who were students of the Tourism Management course at
IFRN Campus Canguaretama. The application of which was carried out online, using
a digital platform. To analyze the data, we used the technique of content analysis for
open questions and analysis of quantitative data for graphs. What made possible in
obtaining answers, allowing to outline the profile of the students, to understand if they
have knowledge about the theme and what they reveal in relation to the relevance of
the practice of exchanges. As a result of the study, it can be identified that 53.3% are
between 20 and 24 years old, 91.1% are interested in visiting other countries, 88.9%
of students are not fluent in other languages and 44.4 % of these respondents consider
it important to live in another country to acquire cultural, intellectual and professional
experiences. Internationalization actions developed by the IFRN from 2015 to 2020
are also presented. It is concluded that the research was significant, allowed us to
understand that the exchange can provide differences and better opportunities, as it
contributes to qualification, promotes personal and professional growth.
