Biosafety is the application of knowledge, techniques and equipment aimed at preventing the&#13;
user's exposure to risks in the laboratory environment. Good Laboratory Practices are&#13;
fundamentals of biosafety, so they should be applied in all laboratories. The Federal Institute&#13;
of Education, Science and Technology Rio Grande do Norte – campus of CurraisNovos one&#13;
of the laboratories that can pose risks for students is the Food Microbiology and therefore it is&#13;
essential to implementation of Good Laboratory Practice. For verification and listing of shares&#13;
used in this laboratory environment was carried out questionnaires about the issue at hand.&#13;
The results were that some BPLs are actually applied, many important practices are merely&#13;
overlooked by the students.
