Public squares play an important socio-environmental role in the urban scenario &#13;
and their afforestation is a heritage that must be known and preserved. In this sense, this work &#13;
aims to evaluate urban afforestation in squares in the West Zone, municipality of Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, as well as analyze the environmental perception of users of these green areas. For this, a floristic analysis and phytosanitary diagnosis of afforestation were carried out through visual analysis and photographic record of the specimens during field visits in the squares. As a data collection instrument, a form structured in four sessions was used: I) characterization of the square; II) Identification and characterization of species; III) phytosanitary diagnosis; and IV) recommended actions. To assess the users' perception, a semi structured questionnaire containing 17 questions was used, which was applied to 102 users during visits carried out in the investigated squares. The floristic evaluation registered 170 specimens, and 31 species distributed in 26 families, with Arecaceae, Anacardiaceae and Apocynaceae being the most frequent, with a predominance of species and specimens of exotic origin. With regard to environmental perception, it was found that the subjects recognize the importance of afforestation and are able to list its benefits (reduction of heat, shade and improvement of the urban space aesthetic) and negative points (subject of squares and the street; problems with the electrical or telephone network and problems on the sidewalks). The results presented represent a contribution to the management and management of forestation in the investigated squares and other green areas in their surroundings.

The reuse of organic waste from a vegetable garden is a great learning tool to work on Environmental Education in the school environment, as it inspires changes in behavior, awakens an eye towards not depredating the environment, allowing new generations to achieve a more sustainable development. sustainable. This project aimed to awaken in Elementary School I students the understanding of the problems related to the disposal of organic waste, as well as to create a sustainable alternative for its use from a school garden. A vertical garden with PET bottles was prepared, from September to December 2022, with classes from the 1st to the 5th year of the Municipal School Nossa Senhora da Guia, in Parnamirim/RN, from the composting of organic waste in the school environment and cultivation of vegetables such as arugula, kale, lettuce, chives and coriander. As a result, it was observed that the experience generated positive results in relation to the cultivation and care of plants and soil, arousing interest in students in composting and a vegetable garden at home.

This internship report aims to present the activities carried out at the Municipal Housing, Land Regularization and Structuring Projects (SEHARPE) from March 2020 to September 2021, under the supervision of Social Worker Vane Teixeira de Oliveira. The main focus of the internship was the execution of Environmental Education (EE) activities carried out with the families of the Residential Complex Village da Prata. The methodology used to carry out this report consisted of the theoretical knowledge base experienced in the classroom and bibliographical research carried out through scientific articles, monographs, theses and books that helped in the consultation of the topics covered. The activities carried out included customer service, preparation of dossiers for the beneficiaries of the Minha Casa Minha Vida Program (PMCMV), visits to the communities and participation in the delivery of projects. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, a good part of the external activities proposed for the internship could not be carried out, especially workshops, lectures, conversation circles about EE. Therefore, it is recommended that practical studies involving EE are carried out, aiming to characterize the relationships in this urban environment, in order to contribute to the discussion of improving the quality of life in the PMCMV and the existing environmental problems there.
