Resumo
This research had the objective to investigate how the public policies for teacher education in Brazil were developed, searching for evidences of their articulation with the policies of teacher education for Vocational Education in the colonial and republican periods. As a qualitative study, it is based on bibliographic and documentary analysis, using the “clue paradigm” Ginzburg (1989), as methodological procedure. The research was made up due to the need to expand studies and information gathering, with the intention of producing knowledge about the topic of teacher education policies in Brazil and find out the relationship they have with the training of teachers for Professional Education. The results of the research show that teacher training policies in Brazil have been established in a slow and gradual manner. In fact, they have achieved projection and insertion in educational policy according to the interests and priorities established by the historical, social, political and economic model related to each time. Thus, teacher training policies constitute distinct spaces and structures of teacher education for professional education; The policies of teacher education for Vocational Education have not been concretely and effectively constituted, such as general education policies, in which the actions and intentions of the formative routes to basic education are diluted, instead of policies for technical vocational education in a high school level. Therefore, it is necessary to demand from the public power educational policies for professional education that are effective, broad and that contemplate the principles, conceptions and purposes established in the National Curriculum Guidelines for high school Technical Education, using the contributions, the proposals, Studies and legislation already produced in the period on the subject. Keywords: Professional Education. Public policy. Teacher training. Teacher training for Vocational Education. High school Professional-Technical Education.
