Resumo
This study aimed to analyze the benefits of music for the development of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), focusing on the cognitive, motor, emotional, and social dimensions. The research is based on the idea that the use of music constitutes an effective pedagogical and therapeutic resource, capable of generating positive results in the learning process and in children's behavior. This is because music, through its composition, can awaken the attention of children with ADHD, whose minds constantly seek patterns of order. Thus, each musical composition, by having a well-defined beginning, middle, and end, offers predictability and contributes to the individual's internal organization. To meet the proposed objectives, a qualitative, exploratory methodology was chosen, seeking to understand the presented theme based on the bibliography found, in addition to the survey conducted by the author (2025) with early childhood education teachers at the Santa Clara Educational Center in the municipality of São Gonçalo do Amarante, Rio Grande do Norte, who contributed spontaneously. The theoretical framework was guided by authors such as Barkley (2016), Paiva et al. (2007), Mantoan (2015), Nascimento and Sousa (2022), and Oliveira et al. (2013), who emphasize the contribution of music as a pedagogical tool. The results showed that music helps minimize the typical impairments of ADHD, providing more welcoming, playful, and stimulating environments. Another aspect revealed was the teachers' recognition of the importance of music in the educational context. Finally, it is concluded that music is a powerful ally in pedagogical work with children with ADHD, being able to transform the school routine and significantly contribute to their development.
