Bananas are the most widely grown fruit in the tropics and the most consumed fruit in the world. Bananas are grown in different ecosystems with different types of management, including conventional, organic and agro-ecological. Conventional agriculture is unstable due to the recurring outbreaks of pests in monocultures, which affect crop production and productivity. Agroecology, on the other hand, aims at sustainable agricultural production, taking local knowledge into account. The aim of this study was to evaluate banana productivity under agroecological management with two irrigation systems. The research was carried out at the IFRN Campus Ipanguaçu School Farm in the Organic Banana UTD during the months of September 2022 to March 2023. The bunches were harvested, weighed, peeled and each stalk weighed. The number of sticks, the number of fruits per stick and the fruit diameter of the bananas grown under the two irrigation systems remained stable due to the residual effect of the rains. Total productivity was 31.06 t ha¯¹, which is high compared to national, regional and state productivity.
