Resumo
Secondly, the research “Ethnobotany and Medicinal Plants: focus on the work of Women”, seeks the relationship between society and nature through agroecology. This study is based on studies on ethnobotany and medicinal plants, as well as agroecology, as is the case with the works of Barrera-Bassols, Leff, Santos, among other scholars. Thus, the general objective is to: Discuss the role and cultivation of medicinal plants in the context of agroecological studies. And as specific objectives: Investigate how women and students at IFRN use medicinal plants to treat some diseases. The methodology used was qualitative-exploratory, for this purpose a questionnaire was prepared and applied via Google forms on the use and cultivation of medicinal plants containing 15 questions, the questionnaire was applied to students from the various courses at IFRN Campus Ipanguaçu and with women living nearby; for data analysis, descriptive statistics were used. Therefore, based on the answers obtained, we can conclude that medicinal herbs are an important part of our culture, but it goes far beyond that, it also reinforces family ties and demonstrates the importance of preserving and valuing these popular habits.
