Natureza, sociedade e alagamentos no bairro de Nova Descoberta em Natal - RN

Abstract

The purpose of this Course Conclusion Work is to understand how floods are determining for the Nova Descoberta dynamics in the city of Natal and / or cause disturbances for pedestrians, residents, merchants and the transportation service. Analyzing the development of the city of Natal until arriving at the neighborhood of Nova Descoberta observing if it was / is within the legal parameters according to the master plan and urban planning, the methodological paths had bibliographical research to identify the natural conditions, works of field for identification of the anthropic action, semi-structured interviews with residents of Nova Descoberta, and map development to identify flooded spots. The results indicate that the social, environmental and economic characterization of the Nova Descoberta neighborhood was perceived to be occupied without any type of urban planning, suffers serious environmental and social problems from the flood points.
