Resumo
The teaching of Physics is involved in a daily and technological applicability, in a way that presents itself to facilitate the teaching-learning process. In this scenario, the use of experiments associated with the teaching-learning process develops several competences in Physics. This work was developed with the purpose of elaborating a didactic sequence to relate concepts related to electromagnetic induction with emphasis on the operation of a Tesla Coil (reproduced in a reduced scale). The use of practical methodologies in the classroom has become indispensable as an instrument capable of transforming teaching into something more playful. From the scenario outlined above, it is necessary to answer the following question: How can we use the experimentation of a Mini Tesla Coil to assist in the studies on electromagnetic induction? The methodology used to create the didactic sequence is based on 2 methodological moments, where the first would be carried out to probe the student’s prior knowledge about the subjects that will serve as a basis for the sequence of the unit, using simulations in PhET and real situations, which encompass a contextualization of the subject. A historical introduction to Faraday’s experiments, which introduced the dissemination of this content, will also be presented. The second moment was designed to show the operation of the mini Tesla Coil lighting a light bulb at a distance and, thus, explaining what electromagnetic induction is, together stating Faraday’s Law as well as Lenz’s Law. All the two thought moments would be mediated by a slide show, presented dynamically. In this way, we seek to use the Tesla Mini Coil in order to enrich the dialogue between the educator and the student, with an alternative motivating teaching intervention that encourages curiosity. Therefore, providing, thus, the dissemination of knowledge.
