Photography as a Visual Narrative for Teaching Mathematics is
a didactic exhibition developed as a concluding academic activity
Guidance Seminar on the Development of Educational Practices and
Teacher Training II, Campus Mathematics Degree
Santa Cruz, Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio
Great North. It was developed in the semester 2019.2, with the class of the
second period of that course.
The activity had as its general objective: to guide an academic activity
(virtual exposition) to promote reflections on the teaching-learning process of mathematics in basic education, observing their relationships
with the daily life lived through photographs in photo reports, and how
specific objectives: familiarize undergraduate mathematics students with practical
mathematics teachers that enable the visibility of
everyday mathematics; stimulate the use of information technologies and
of communication in educational research applied to teaching; and promote
academic writing in the production of scientific texts using photography
as a visual narrative in a photo report.
